• Grammar--- To vs Too, There/Their/They're

**Following Nupur's suit. Disclaimer: I am not a teacher**

    To vs Too

To is relating to an action.

    I'm going TO the store.
    I want TO swim.
    Too tends to be quantative....

    (Also, in addition to, etc.)

I, TOO, will be going to the store.
I don't like that TOO well.

    And then there is... There/Their/They're.

If in doubt- ask yourself these questions:

#1. If I say "They are" in place of "there/their/they're" does it work?

They're going to the mall. (correct)
They are going to the mall. (passes test)
    in contrast to...

    That is they're mall. (incorrect)
That is they are mall. (doesn't pass test)

If it doesn't pass the first question.. ask the next...

#2. Does it belong to them? Is it posessive?

    Posessive:

    That is their opinion. (correct)
    That is there opinion. (incorrect)
Their shows that it is ownership. They own that opinion, it is "their"s.

If it can't be they're because "they are" makes no sense, and it isn't possessive, then it is there.

There is location. Think "here" and t"here".

    Thanks VV,

Though I only had one thought when I wrote it; in a commercial world do we have to accept that the 'natural' is superfluous?
